    • About Lexile Reading Framework

Lexile matches children to targeted books and text according to their interests and reading level - not by where they 'should be for their age or learning year'

Everything you need to know about Lexile Reading Framework can be found on their web site.
This video gives a good overview.

    • 1) Find the Lexile score of a book your child is currently reading.

If your child is already reading a book you can search for that book on the Lexile web site. They have evaluated millions of books and given them all a Lexile score. For example, If your child is easily reading a book with a Lexile score of 600L then you know your child has a Lexile score of 600L

      2) Search for other books by Lexile Level and Interest Level

Once you know the Lexile score of a book that your child is currently reading, you have your child's Lexile score. You can now enter this Lexile score (see screen grab) and search of other books with a similar Lexile score. You can select different categories of books - press submit, you are given a list of books which are all in the same Lexile reading range as your child. CLICK HERE
